How your giving is handled — and where it goes
A plain explanation of our 501(c)(3) status, how donations are processed, and how sponsorship money reaches a child.
Hearts 4Kids Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity based in Mercedes, Texas, EIN 47-4834211. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and you receive a receipt for every donation.
Online giving is processed through Givebutter, a donation platform used by thousands of nonprofits. Card details never touch our servers. If you prefer, you can still give by mail — the address is on our donate page.
Sponsorship isn't a fixed package
People sometimes assume a sponsorship payment is handed to a specific family as cash. It is not. Sponsorship funds are pooled into the programs that serve that child — food, medical care, education — so staff can meet whatever the real need is that month rather than delivering the same items regardless of circumstance.
Questions are welcome
If you want to know something specific about how a gift was used, ask us. We would rather answer a direct question than have a supporter wonder.
