How giving works, what your donation funds, and how to sponsor a child or volunteer with Hearts 4Kids.
Hearts 4Kids Inc is a 501(c)(3) public charity registered in the United States (EIN 47-4834211) and administered from Mercedes, Texas. Our programs run through a community center in El Triunfo, Ecuador, where local staff and volunteers serve children and families facing poverty.
Donations fund the daily work of our center in El Triunfo: meals and food packages, medical care and medicine, school supplies and tutoring, and the classes and activities that keep children and youth connected to a safe place.
Yes. Hearts 4Kids Inc is a 501(c)(3) public charity, so gifts from U.S. donors are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive an emailed receipt for online gifts, and we send receipts for checks when you include your email address.
Choose the monthly option in the giving form on our Donate page. Monthly gifts are the most useful kind of support because they let us plan meals, medical care and school help ahead of time instead of reacting month to month.
Sponsorship pairs one supporter with one child in El Triunfo. Your ongoing gift helps cover that child's essentials — nutrition, health care and school — and we send updates about how they are doing. Contact us and we will walk you through the next available children.
Yes. Note the program you want to support — food, medical care, education or the center's operations — in the giving form or in an email to us, and we will direct it accordingly.
Yes. Individuals, professionals such as nurses and teachers, and church or school teams all serve with us, and some volunteers help remotely with translation, design and fundraising. Start on our Volunteer page and tell us your skills and availability.
Shipping goods internationally is usually more expensive than buying locally, so we generally ask supporters to give funds that our Ecuadorian team can spend in the local market. If you have specific supplies in mind, email us first and we will tell you whether we can use them.
